Surya (The Sun) I bow to the Sun, the one who resembles a hibiscus flower, the descendent of Kashyapa, the immensely radiant one, the destroyer of darkness and all sins.

Chandra (The Moon) I bow to the Moon, who appears like a conch shell and dew, born of the ocean of milk, adorned on Shiva’s crest as Soma.

Mangal (Mars) I bow to Mars, born from the womb of the earth, with the radiance of lightning, the son of the divine Shakti, the auspicious one.

Budh (Mercury) I bow to Mercury, dark as a Priyangu flower, incomparable in form, pleasant, and endowed with gentle qualities.

Guru (Jupiter) I bow to Jupiter, the preceptor of gods and sages, golden in hue, the embodiment of intellect, and the master of the three worlds.

Shukra (Venus) I bow to Venus, as radiant as snow, the foremost teacher of demons, and the one who reveals all scriptures.

Shani (Saturn) I bow to Saturn, dark as collyrium, the son of the Sun, the elder brother of Yama, born of Chhaya and the Sun.

Rahu I bow to Rahu, with a half-body, of immense valor, who troubles the Moon and Sun, born from the womb of Simhika.

Ketu I bow to Ketu, resembling the Palash flower, with a head like the stars, fierce and terrifying in form.
